The most loved market would have to be the Camberwell Market [www.sundaymarket.com.au/] with everything on offer from vintage to home wares, jewellery and electrical. The Camberwell Market is held every Sunday morning from approx 6.30am to 1pm, rain, hail or shine!
Take Two Markets [www.take2markets.com.au/] also sells second hand clothing and each stall has something interesting to check out. The better part is, that this market is held indoors. So there's no excuse not to head across during Winter. Take Two stall holders offer great condition second hand woman's wear with various labels, vintage treasures and Australian or overseas designer fashions. The next market is on Sunday 17 October at the Hawthorn Town Hall - 360 Burwood Road Hawthorn. The catch - this market now costs $3 to get in and you need cash on you! There nearest ATM is a wonder down the street, so do it before you get to the door. I found this one a little more on the pricey side but none the less far cheaper than retail and some interesting pieces.
The Hello Sailor Vintage Fair [http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=37575871956] held between two locations – the Carlton Hotel on Bourke Street and the Grace Darling Hotel in Collingwood. If you're not an early riser than this is the market for you, open from 1 - 6pm.
This market is pure vintage paying homage to quality pieces and one offs.
Hello Sailor is on the second Sunday of every month at The Carlton Hotel from 12 - 6pm & both Saturday and Sunday of every month at The Grace Darling from 1 - 6pm.

I've held a one off stall at the Camberwell Market a couple of times & I highly recommend it, but I also recommend taking someone along with you. For the long day ahead and because at least one of you has to check out what others are selling! Both days it was great and I sold quite a few things. I'm even planning to go again shortly when the weather gets that little bit warmer!
If you haven't booked a stall through the website and have your fingers crossed on getting lucky that Sunday morning, you should be warned that you need to be up early and at the market by roughly 4.30 even 5am to be first in line & get your name down first! Then wait it out.
Prep for the day: have spare coat hangers for your clothes, maybe a tarp for other items [handbags, shoes, nik naks] for on the ground and also you'll need a clothing rack of some sorts. If your selling shoes with the shoe boxes some customers will want the box too! And also supply plastic shopping bags. Have plenty of loose change with you and some extra notes to exchange with customers. You can park your car on-site, which is easier to heave everything out of the boot to set up asap. Word or warning - customers will approach you midst setting up and ask questions, start sifting through - so be prepared to be selling. You don't need to worry about price tags, you'll find that the prices will change as you judge the crowd and settle into the mood. The best advice I can offer when selling is stick to your guns if people start to bargain with you, in a ridiculous manner, especially if that 100% vintage wool jacket your selling is worth more than $10! Don't take anything along that you don't intend on selling because chances are someone will want to buy it!
It can get busy out there too people, so you may be bombarded with more than one customer at a time! Good luck - its a great experience and generally a great day out!
